Dear All,
I have a doubt in creating a Datasource in BW. I have 2 tables that is developed in BW DEV system and its required to create a generic Datasource in BW system itself ( Not in ECC ). Can i use the same functionality RSO2 to create a Datasource in BW system too.?. And do i need to create an Application Component too?, If YES how to create an Application Component in BW ?.
I request you to share the information regarding the same.
Thanks
Baskar

Hi Pradeep,
Creation of Data source procedure in BW is same as you do it in ECC,
Yes RSO2 can be used..
You have to create a application component by selecting BW as source system.
Here is a document you can understand how to create a data source by selecting view created by joining tables.

Hi Pradeep,
How you can create DATASOURCE in BW OLAP system,
But you can create tables in SE11 and create of two tables view in BW,
I think Tcode will not worked in BW system for creation of DS and RSO2,
kindly check avalaibulity to creation of all those things.

Hi Baskar,
Yes you can user RSO2 for generic datasource creation in any SAP system.
go to RSA1 --> source system--> double click on the BW source system
it will take you to the tree containing all the datasources...
Once you are there just go to specific application component where you want to create your application component. RIGHT click on the application component and create your own.
Use the created application component in RSO2 while creating the generic datasource...
also look the document provided by BPC/BI User in the same thread.

Hello,
Yes you can create data-source in same manner as you create in ECC.
In case you want to create application component, Go to RSA1 > Info sources > Right Click > Create Application Component.
Hope it helps!!!!
