Hey - i recently installed Data Integrator v11.7. This is now connecting happily to sap. A collegue has recently download the Data Migration Best Practices from SAP.

He was under the impression that would use the DI installation.

However its saying we arent at the right version, we need 12.1 but i cant find any upgrades for DI?

There is something called Data Services which is at version 12.1, whats this in relation to DI?

Will he need to install that in order to use the Best Practice tool?

Thanks

Carston

The tool names Data Integrator and Data Quality end with version 11.x. These two tools have now been combined into one tool called Data Services XI.

Data Services XI 3.0 is the same as 12.0 and Data Services XI 3.1 is the same as 12.1. One of these, or Data Services XI 3.2 if you feel like taking a risk from it not being out that long, would be the most appropriate to install. Data Integrator 11.7 has an end of mainstream maintenance coming up in June 2010.

Data Services is the new name of Data Integrator.

I guess it has been renamed in order to drop ambiguities with other products.
