For customer extension, it is mandatory that the customer master data already exists in the system — this means you can only perform the extension after the customer master has been successfully uploaded.
Separate Template for Extension:
A dedicated template is used for customer master data extension — this is different from the normal creation template, given below :
- Customer - extend existing record by new org levels
(Here we are talking with the scenario)
Run ID is Critical:
A unique Run ID is assigned for each extension. If Customer A is being extended to 2 sales areas, then two separate Run IDs will be used, e.g.:
Sales Area 1: Run ID = 1
Sales Area 2: Run ID = 2
Sequential Processing Required:
Extension uploads must be done sequentially:
First, the uploader for Run ID 1 will be executed (for Sales Area 1),
Then, the uploader for Run ID 2 will be executed (for Sales Area 2).
Separate Uploaders for Each Run ID:
Multiple sales area extensions are not allowed in a single uploader. The system does not accept so many changes in one uploader, therefore, each Run ID must be processed in a separate uploader.
Customer Must Exist in the System:
Before performing any extension, it is mandatory that the customer master data already exists in the system. This means the extension can only be carried out after the initial customer creation/upload has been successfully completed.
