***hi can u tell me*** What triggers the system to do picking for a OUTBOUND DLIVERY. How the system comes to know that we have to do picking and then PGI. What settings are required so that the system will do sales order-delivery---pgi and no picking.

Remember : OVLP or relevant for picking check in delivery item category is not the answer we r looking for.

OVLP is the only setting, through which Delivery can be made as not relevant for picking.

Is there anything in specific you are trying to understand or want to do regarding picking.

Hi,

Outside of what you have set in customising if your looking for the technical reason why the system sees the delivery item as relevant for picking and goods issue- the delviery program looks at the status in the table VBUP both for picking and GI. The mentioned Customising controls the initial relevancy for picking, GI relevancy depends on a number of other factors. In VBUP you will see that an item is relevant for picking and GI with a status = "A" in the related VBUP fields. When the delivery is fully picked and GI'd these status should = "C".

This gets calculated based on what quantities has been updated in the document flow table VBFA.

How does the system knows>

it depends upon the ovlp setting,

and y does we do picking? thats bcoz the movement of the goods happens physically?

and again Y? bcoz this updates ur COGS?

and wat gets updated?

the valuation stock gets reduced up to the order level.with material doc creating
