Cross Model Filter

Hello,

I want to create a dashboard that contains data from two different sources (models). To make the dasboard easier to use I want to use just one filter for the supplier on story level.

Assuming:

  • I have two models, Purchasing Volume (PV) and Order Volume (OV)
  • Both models have the dimension "supplier"
  • Not all suppliers are in both models
  • Both models are connected via "link dimension" on the dimension "supplier"

Example:

Supplier A is in both models, supplier B is only in the PV model and supplier C only in the OV model

Expectation:

I create a filter on the dimension supplier that is origanally connected to the model PV. (That model is also "linked" via the "link dimension" to the supplier dimension of the OV model).

My expectation is that I can see supplier A, B and C!, because both models are connected.

Problem:

The only suppliers I can see are suppliers A and B. Supplier C is missing. Why is supplier C not shown in the filter even though the models are connected?

Is there any possibility to create a filter, that contains all Dimension attributes of 2 or more models also in that case that the models have not the same content in the dimension?

Thanks a lot for help.

Hello,

I tried to figure your problem, and I guess someone from SAP company could help you better (maybe use some kind of public dimension is possible). But if you manually create a dimension member at Model A, you could show this member in filter with show unbooked member enabled. Models dimensions are in widgets linked with link type = All data, linked with ID. Finally if you choose this unbooked member, only result you get is from Model B. Another approach cloud be third model that contains all members.

Best regards,
