Hi All,
I need to create COPA data source.
As per my understanding whenever we create Operating Concern for a project/bisuness, four underlying COPA database table will be created automatically( CE1XXXX,CE2XXXX,CE3XXXX,CE4XXXX). These tables store different data at different levels, to be specific CE1XXXX stores Atual line item data, CE2XXXX stores Plan line item data and like wise.
I just want to know:
when we create COPA datasource that will be based on these four tables. As they have different data at different level, how does COPA datasource accomodate these data? generally when we create one data source from different tables, then data should be at same granullar level.
Kindly provide some input
Thanks in Advance

Hi all,
Since this question has been partially covered before and the part that wasn't covered could have been answered by reading the business content documentation, I'm going to remove it's question designation and remove points awarded for answering it. However, I'm going to leave it in place because it is hard to find the business content documentation and no previous answers link to it. Because of this, the question is a bit on the border of rule-breaking and I want to make sure the OP gets the answer.
You can generally find documentation on how all business content data sources access ERP tables by going here: http://help.sap.com/bicontent In general, for these types of questions, review the business content documentation before asking. This type of research/search is required by the .
The most recent documentation for the CO-PA published key figure template datasource is here: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73ehp1/helpdata/en/15/366377bff1417097dc35927ecf6c47/content.htm?frame...
And for the generic published key figure data source is here: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73ehp1/helpdata/en/0e/6ce438b15f091ce10000000a11405a/content.htm?frame...
If you review these documents and have further questions, please open a new thread and ask your more specific questions there (after searching to see if these questions have already been addressed).

Hi Rana,
As i know BI team creating a data source with help operating concern. while creating operating concern CE1xxxx.....etc tables are generated in back end. Even with help of abap expert you can debug at RSA3, you will know the executing and pulling mechanism from the respective tables.
please go thru below link. might be useful.

Thanks Pavan,
Documents and links are helpful.
But my concern is:
How does COPA datasource fetch data from these four tables which are having different granularity?
All these four tables have different data. In normal scenario, if we create one generic data source based on more than one database tables, then we need to have these tables have data at same granularity and we need to define join conditions.
for example: two tables are there, one for header data and one for item data. We need to create one data source based on these two tables. Then the data source need to have data at header level, because we can not split header data into different items but we can aggregate item level data to header level.
In COPA, though we are not defining all these manually, still system must be having some mechanism to do this automatically.
can you focus some light regarding this. When we extract COPA data source in RSA3, the data which it shows are contents of four COPA tables. Then how does it(COPA data source) define granularity and aggregate these data?
Thanks
