Controlling datasources

Hi all,

Please explain in detail about the use of CO-PA ,CO-PC,CO-OM data sorces.I mean in what kind of requirements we go for these datasources?

First time am working on these datasources.Please tell me the navigation steps to create a COPA data source ?

How to collect the char's and Key figures? how to assign the operating concern?

Because as the steps provided in SDN am trying to create a DS in KEB0 but its throwing an error saying DS not available ?

STEPS IN SDN :R/3 System

1. KEB0

2. Select Datasource 1_CO_PA_CCA

3. Select Field Name for Partitioning (Eg, Ccode)

4. Initialise

5. Select characteristics & Value Fields & Key Figures

6. Select Development Class/Local Object

7. Workbench Request

8. Edit your Data Source to Select/Hide Fields

9. Extract Checker at RSA3 & Extract

Before creating a DS in KEB0 do we have do some settings? Is there any standard DS to view it ?

what should be the naming convention for the DS we create?

Hi,

which ever the stpes you are done those are correct only

1_co_pc by default will come

1_CO_PC_xxxx( XXX = this one you can change as per your requirement).

then craete , select the operating concern which ever you are using for your company code and

then select which are characterstics and value fields are required those u can selct and save it.

you select the parttion based on like the comapnty code like that .

check the comaptabilty and summrization level Ctrl F3

then provide the short, medium and long distances,and ther is a Tab info catalog (Ctrl F7)

Then you can check the data in rsa3.

which ever the document provided by Mr Surendra , you can get the detaild and self explanative.

Hi,

We should create CO-PA datasources, Bcoz compant to compnat the Operating Concern and Company code will change so that CO-PA DS's we need to create.
