Hi,
Just looking through my monitoring dashboard (BI 4.0 SP5) and noticed overall health was in danger. After a bit of digging I found it was my Crystal Reports Report Application Server that was causing the problem. It had over 5,600 documents and the danger threshold was 20.
My first question is probably a silly one,
What is meant by ReportApplicationServer documents?
How are they created?
If I don't need them, then how do I get rid of them.
As you can probably tell I've only just started looking at this part of the CMC and I'm a bit of a novice.
I've read up quite a bit on the monitoring side but can't find anything about documents.
Any help on this matter would be great.
Thanks
Stuart.

Hi,
The Danger rule includes default "Metric document_s_", which is "Documents Since Server Startup" according to your screen shut.
You might consult with SAP BO support for confirmation if you can increase the "Metric document_s_" to a higher reasonable number or to rewrite the caution and danger rules as I did.
Hope this helps,
Jin-Chong

Hi,
Can you provide your CrystalReports2013ReportApplicationServer Watch Caution and Danger rules? CMC -> Monitoring -> Watchlist -> CrystalReports2013ReportApplicationServer, Detail for us to examine it closely.
I think it is likely that your Danger rule includes default "Metric document_s_", which is "Documents Since Server Startup"? If so, this particular rule would report false alarm while your CrystalReports2013ReportApplicationServer is working fine.
In my BI4.1 SP03 CrystalReports2013ReportApplicationServer Watch Danger rule, I redefine it to include the following to avoid the false alarm.
CrystalReports2013ReportApplicationServer$'Server Running State'==0 || CrystalReports2013ReportApplicationServer$'Server Running State'==5 || CrystalReports2013ReportApplicationServer$'Server Enabled State'==0
With this said, if anyone knows any other metric(s) to be included, I am all open for suggestion and input.
Hope this helps,
Jin-Chong
