In CMC, i have a report that is linked to a production data source. I would like to create shortcuts of the report (Prod, Test, UAT) so that I can use different data sources.
There is a SQL Production database which contains 2 schemas (Table Prefix). The development one which contains 3 schemas. Currently, when I create several shortcuts of the same report and I modify the database configuration, the change is made for all the shortcuts which I do not want.
Is there a place in CMC that we can add different data sources so that when I go to schedule a report, I will choose the appropriate data source and the right Table Prefix.
Thanks

hi M B, I believe that you will need to either
(a) create a Publication for each DB source configuration or
(b) do a Save As for 3 versions of your reports, 1 for each of your DB configs, and then the publication is based on those 3 reports.
I didn't find anything in the help docs that would do what you want...it's a good idea. The concept of a Dynamic Data Connection used to exist in Business View Manager...you'd need an old version of CR Server for that. This of course is based on the data layer of the report.
If your report is still a work in progress you may wish to consider using a dynamic connection via the Information Design Tool...see the "Table Mapping" section in David Taylor's blog post here. Other idea would be to base your report on a procedure which does the switch.
