Hi there,
A couple of questions in relation to Custom code Decommissioning, hope someone can help:
We are currently in the process of Decommissioning old, unused code from our system. (58 objects in 1 Development Package, to begin with)
We have identified a group of objects which have passed through the Waiting Phase, and have also been on the BLM for several months – we are now happy to Phase them out/Delete from the system.
In CCLM, I have updated the status to “Phasing Out”, and have created a backup transport in ECC D01 (with all 58 objects included, automatically by CCLM Decomm. process)
Now comes the Deletion step, and my questions:
In the documentation, it reads:
For groups with objects of status “Backed Up” (or “Phased Out” if a back-up is not mandatory) a deletion transport should now be generated. A deletion transport should be created directly in the development system. The number of the deletion transport will be recorded in CCLM automatically, as soon as transport was executed successfully. After creation of the deletion transport the status should be set to “Deleting” manually.
Do I need to create this Deletion transport manually in ECC development system? (I know in CCLM 7.1 there was a Delete button, no longer available in 7.2)
Do I need to need to go through each of the 58 programs, and delete it manually or is the process automatic somehow from CCLM?
Thanks in advance for any help/answers offered!
Note that my question is very similar to this one:
https://answers.sap.com/questions/353481/delete-custom-code-in-decommissioning-cockpit-for.html
But before I start manually deleting thousands (once full project under way) of old/unused objects manually, one-by-one, I want to double check if there is a better, more efficient way?
Regards,
David
Request clarification before answering.
In answer to my own question above, incase helpful for anyone else - the deletion is a manual process, is not in anyway automatic in CCLM. Also, once the program has been deleted in development system it may take a day or 2 for the status to show as 'Deleted' in the Custom Code Decommissioning Cockpit Object list.

Hi Prakash,
sorry for delayed response - we have been using all standard, I do not have information on creating custom life cycle status.
thanks,
David

Hi David,
do you also have any idea about "how to Create Custom Life cycle Status in -CCLM Decommissioning Cockpit" or you have been using it all standard?
Thanks
Prakash
