I have something very odd going on.
When using the WebI Rich Internet Application I cannot add a new column to an existing block by clicking on it in the Available Objects pane and dragging it onto the block. Neither can I insert a new table or copy & paste a table.
The only way I can seem to get anything on the report is when I initially create the query and WebI automatically puts a table on it. I am able to add columns or rows to an existing table if I right-click within the table and choose to insert a column or row.
And now here is where it gets weird. Everything works fine if I use Web or Desktop version of Web Intelligence. Also, things seem to work fine if I use an enterprise user rather than my domain user account.
We are on BO 4.0 SP04 Patch 5. This problem is happening in both Firefox 19 and Internet Explorer 8. I have Java 7 Update 17 on my machine. However, I don't think that really matters since it works with a different user and I also have this problem on other machines. In addition, I don't have this issue with my domain user account on my machine on another CMS.
Seems like something is wrong with my BOBJ user, but what? I have been using the WebI Rich Internet Application for almost a year and this just started happening within the last couple days. We have not made any system updates in that time.
Any ideas?
Noel

Hi,
One of my team members is facing the same issue, but in WebI Rich Client as well (not sure about in browser). Did any of you face this too? Or is this possibly due to the fix pack issue?
I checked the Java version but that seems to be fine as compared to rest of the users. - Java 6 Update 29.
Help will be much appreciated!
Thanks!

Was this issue ever resolved. I'm experiencing the exact same issue. All of the functions work when using the BI launch pad but the drag and drop features do not work when using the WEBI rich client.

Hi Noel,
are you saying that this affects some users only? If yes, what do they have in common?
What happens if you try another workflow, i.e. right click and then insert ?
Thanks
Simone

Hi Noel,
this is something you wish to have investigated by support, maybe with an end to end tracing (http://scn.sap.com/community/bi-platform/remote-supportability/blog/2012/11/06/how-to-generate-and-c...)
Thanks
Simone
I did not find out the cause of the issue, but support suggested deleting and re-adding the BusinessObjects user account of any users having this issue. That worked for my own account and one other person that was having this same issue.
