Hi Satish,
tehcnical specifications means all the technical things will be specified in that i.e like infocube design and schema design and ods's and all your mapping information everything is included in that which are prepared by the BW Team and or by technical leads and by PM's.Functional spec means which are diesigned by the client in business terms.
from functional spec only you can design the technical spec.not in the reverse way.the clinent are specific to the business they will tell you the requirements in the business terms (like...SD or MM business terms )depends on their business they don know the technical things.so they will give you the functional spec as they are good at business.
HOpe its clear...
assign points if it helps...

Hi,
What is the difference between technical and functional specs?
Functional specs are based on the business requirements and contain the details of end user expectations of the product functionality. Software will be developed based on the functional specs.
Technical specs contain the details of the how this is/can be achieved and the final product functionality details. In the case of hardware, technical specs will give the details and functionality of each component in the product.

Hi,
Functional specifications are which the user want to see in reports, what kind of information want to analyze. Technical specifications are what you have to use to solve the functional specifications as datasources, infocubes, the data flow ,etc..
