Bussiness Objects over Oracle Data base

Hello All,

I have a quick question on Business Objects and Oracle database integration. Can we carry the Oracle schema into business Objects Universe avoiding creating joins again.( " same as BO over SAP BI"). I heard that with new oracle e-business suite installtion we can access Oracle queris and no need to built any joints or schemas in Universe, It will be same as working over SAP BI Infoproviders( Like Infocubes, Bex queries).

Can some let me know is it possible or still we need to create schema in Universe designer like creating Joins and loops.

Please help me in this regards.

Hi Prashanth,

The Oracle data source is usually set up in a normalized relational fashion or in Kimball's dimensional fashion. You will still need to set up the metadata layer (i.e. the universe) for reporting purpose. You do not need to create any schema in Designer. You only need to define how to access the data in a meaningful way to the end users.
