BAS Project creation issue using on premise system : Authentication issue

Hi SAP Community,

I am facing an authentication issue in SAP Business Application Studio (BAS) while creating a new SAP Fiori application from an S/4HANA on-premise system connected through SAP Cloud Connector.

The strange part is that the connection itself is working correctly.

Current setup

• SAP S/4HANA on-premise system
• SAP Cloud Connector is connected and working
• SAP BTP Trial account
• SAP Business Application Studio
• Fiori Tools
• Node.js: v24.17.0
• @SAP/generator-fiori: 1.31.1

What is working

The same backend system can be accessed successfully from the browser.

For example, the OData catalog service:

https://<virtual-host>:portno/sap/opu/odata/iwfnd/catalogservice;v=2/ServiceCollection

opens successfully and prompts for my ABAP user/password.

More importantly, in BAS → Service Center, I select the same BTP destination/system, and BAS successfully retrieves and displays the available OData services.

Is there a known issue or workaround for this specific Fiori generator authentication problem?
I would especially appreciate guidance on this issue ?
