Hello everyone,

Is there an opportunity in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition to create a Communication User, Communication System, or Communication Arrangement using APIs or classes?
I only found APIs for reading on https://api.sap.com/, but I need creation.

BR,
Oleg Vokh

Hi @Oleg_Vokh,

remote APIs will be provided with the upcoming 2408 release (for SAP BTP, ABAP environment and SAP S/4HANA Cloud, public edition) via the SAP_COM_0A48 communication scenario.

You find corresponding road map item for SAP BTP, ABAP environment in road map explorer.

Best regards
Kai

By now, please check out the Business Accelerator Hub for communication scenarios Cloud Integration Automation Integration (SAP_COM_0A31) and Communication Management Integration (SAP_COM_0A48), e.g. with https://api.sap.com/api/sap-s4-CE_APS_COM_CA_A4C_ODATA_0001-v1/overview

Creating Communication Users, Communication Systems, or Communication Arrangements in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition typically involves using the SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI) service rather than direct APIs exposed by SAP. Here’s a breakdown of how you can achieve this:

1. **SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI)**: This service allows you to integrate various SAP and non-SAP systems, including SAP S/4HANA Cloud. Within CPI, you can create integration flows that involve creating Communication Users, Systems, and Arrangements.

2. **Integration Content Catalog**: SAP provides pre-packaged integration content in CPI, which includes pre-configured integration flows for various scenarios. These can be customized to fit your specific requirements, including the creation of Communication Users, Systems, and Arrangements.

3. **SAP API Business Hub**: While SAP API Business Hub primarily offers APIs for reading data, there are sometimes Integration Flow packages available that include creation scenarios. These can be imported into CPI and adjusted as needed.

4. **Custom Development**: If the standard integration flows do not meet your needs, you can develop custom integration flows using SAP’s Integration Suite tools. This involves using tools like SAP Integration Suite to create API proxies or custom APIs that can handle creation of Communication Users, Systems, and Arrangements.

5. **APIs for Administrative Tasks**: For more administrative tasks related to user and system management, you might also look into SAP’s Cloud Platform Identity Authentication Service (IAS), which provides APIs for user management and single sign-on capabilities.

To summarize, while direct APIs specifically for creating Communication Users, Systems, and Arrangements may not be readily exposed by SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition itself, leveraging SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI) is a robust approach. CPI provides the tools and capabilities necessary to orchestrate such integrations and create the required entities within your SAP landscape.
