AIF automatic reprocessing: number of automatic reprocessing trials

Hi,

when registering an AIF interface for automatic reprocessing in transaction /AIF/REP_AC_ASGN I can set the "Max Repr. Counter". When for example setting the counter to 5 and the minimum waiting time to 1 hour I would expect to have up to 5 automatic reprocessings with a delay of 1 hour between each reprocessing trial. But instead I get 5 automatic reprocessing trials within one second and no delay of one hour before starting the next reprocessing.

Does anyone of you have an idea what might cause this behaviour?

I found out what was causing the behaviour but I don't understand it.

In transaction /AIF/PERS_CGR I was creating my runtime configurations. The configuration parameters "Messages Per Package" and "Messages Rer Run" were both set to 1. This was causing the mentioned behaviour. After deleting these values and using an empty value for these two parameters the automatic reprocessing was considering the waiting times between reprocessing trials.

Could anybody explain to me how these two things relate to eachother?
