ABAP support in visual studio

Hello people,

Did any of your hear or find out about support for ABAP in the context of on-premise or "cloud" in MS Visual Studio? 20 years later and ole good Visual Studio (in its version from the 2000 already but now of course even more) still kicks the butt of all other IDEs (such as Xcode, SE80, Eclipse). Since, for instance, WEBIDE kind of blows,not being an instant response application such as SAPGui transaction, is there a way to connect MS Visual Studio to any SAP system (be it on-premise or someone else's computer ) in a way that all functions from SE80 or WEBIDE are supported?

No, there is no support for ABAP Development in MS Visual Studio.

For ABAP Development SAP focuses on the ABAP Development Tools for Eclipse.

All UI5/Fiori development stuff is supported by SAP Web IDE and the new SAP Business Application Studio (both IDEs support now and in future full-stack development for e.g. Node.js based applciations). But you can use for that stuff your IDE of choice, because there is no proprietary SAP stuff included. Of course you will miss probably some features, like syntax completion features, etc. But SAP is working on that stuff, especially in the UI5 area.

thank you. I'll keep the question open for a while, hopefully there are more projects on this. Eclipse doesn't feel professional in general (I get the Lotus Notes allergy when using it) and the SAP Business App Studio is so primitive that SE38 is a decade ahead. Syntax completion features are not essential, once one gets a bit experienced, more interesting would be advanced search options, to be able to find all useful functions or classes, features that allow one to read code efficiently and fast and deep deep integration.
