Importing collection fields using CSV

Hi experts,

We created collections with some custom extension fields (specifically into Groups  (642), and we would like to load some data into these extension fields.  The import tool doesn’t recognize these collections/fields and the load doesn't work.

Is it possible to load extension fields into collections using CSV?

Hi Adison,

You should be able to update extension fields in a collection using the standard template and selecting the "Extension Collections" object type at the time of import.  I'm attaching an example of an import file to do this.  You do have to be careful to ensure that the import file is properly structured.  You can accidentally add empty rows so you want to be sure to test with a small number of records before doing any kind of mass import.

If you need any help with this and want to look at it together, please ask.

Hope this helps,

Rosemary

Hi Adison,

I'm sorry.  I thought I had attached it but it seems that I can't upload a file in this format.  Can you send me  your email address and I'll send it over email?

Thanks much,

Rosemary

Hi Adilson,

I think that for loading custom collections' values is only possible via scripting. The forum colleagues may have any other comments on that or confirm this is the only possible way to achieve this.

Cheers,

Robert
