Ariba API (json / cXML)

Hi,

I would like to get information from an Ariba System from outside (e.g. retrieving purchase orders).

Up to my knowledge, there are several possibilties:

• using json (https://api.sap.com/api/purchase_orders_supplier/overview) --> REST API
• using cXML (https://help.sap.com/viewer/43cc25c2fa9d4789b058784e816a2af8/cloud/de-DE/dd8b0107f0181014b682fba700a...)

What are the prerequisites and scenarios for each possibility?
Is there another way?

- JSON: this is only for requesting an existing purchase order with all the information

- cXML: provides a lot more information and possibilities, e.g. rejecting a purchase order and and and.

So, it depends on your use cases (sorry for a "it depends answer" ;-))
