SAP CodeJam is an event organized by SAP Developers Advocates, focusing on the new themes driven by SAP. Participants can explore specific SAP technologies, platforms, and tools through guided exercises and real-world scenarios. SAP experts are on hand to provide assistance, answer questions, and share insights.
We at VINCI Energies organized not just one but 2 CodeJams in parallel, one on RAP and the other on CAP. And guess what ? This is the first CodeJam ever to be held in Paris! We’re making history here, folks!
What an incredible day we had surrounded by our three superstars @thomas_jung , @RichHeilman and @KRiedelsheimer , who shared their passion with us through these handson sessions. The day kicked off with a presentation on SAP's two recent frameworks.
RAP (RESTful Application Programming Model) empowers developers with a toolkit for crafting innovative SAP applications. RAP ensures a well-organized development process through a standardized approach by using CDS (Core Data Services) to manage application’s data and ADT (ABAP Development Tools) to design and build applications. Who knows, maybe one day we'll really be able to rap to build applications.
CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model), provides developers with a set of tools and guidelines for building modern applications. It makes things easier by providing one way to build both backend services and frontend user interfaces. CAP supports various programming languages and frameworks to help creating flexible and powerful applications
Once the presentations were over and the participants had been introduced to these new technologies, it was time to roll up our sleeves and get hands-on. Our 28 participants dived into the tutorial like a kid in a candy store. And we’ve got the photos to prove it!
Just when developers thought they had mastered both frameworks, the 3 SAP advocates launched some scary news: Joule, their new AI! But fear not, code warriors! Joule isn't here to steal our jobs, at least not today. Instead, we've seen some exciting possibilities for how this AI can help us with our daily tasks.
