Work flow for PM objects

Dear Experts,

1) What are the plant maintenance objects (like notification, maintenance order) to which we can use work flow.

2) What is the role of a functional consultant in PM work flow.

Pls clarify or suggest any document on the same.

1) For Plant Maintenance/CS area, SAP has some standard Workflows defined for - Maintenance Notification, Service Notification, Maintenance order & Service Order. Go through the link below which explains the scenarios for the workflows in PM/CS:

You can create your custom workflows for any other object depending on your Business requirement. Talk to your ABAPer and they should be able to help for custom Workflow development.

2) PM consultant role in workflow development is more functional such as understanding the workflow requirement, making sure that if there is a Standard workflow available, then implement that using help of an ABAper, testing end-to-end the workflow and Business scenario, so that there are no loop holes. If there is any custom workflow developemnt, then writing functional specs. etc.

Standard workflow available for notification and order in sap form PM point of view.

In config node set work flow for notification and order you can assign agent and event.

Apart from standard development can be done if your requirement is not fit in standard.

HI Laxman,

workflow is a process to update the info. to the correct person, while triggering the event.

Functional consultant role here to understand the business from cleint and convey to the development team by converting the business requirement to functional design.
