what is the use of transaction code ob28, ggb0 and ggb4

Validations are used to check your own entries against your own created rule. OB28 is used to create Validations for Accounting Documents, GGB0 is also used for validation/Edit/Create and GGB4 is used for activation pf validation of different areas like, Financial Accounting, Asset Accouting etc, please award points if helpfull. Inspite of having all the controls, you may want additional controls which teh standard SAP has not provided.

For example if you want to restrict users by currency or inly certain users are allowed to post in currencies other than Local currency, you may adopt this "valiadation" functionality.

Same way you have replaced the cost center X with Y and to prevent users from using the said cost center, you may need to use "substitution" functionality. To be more clearer lets say cost center 2000 was not in use and you want all your users to use 1000 inplace of 2000. Though you have communicated to them, the user adherence may not in toto. So by Substitution you always replace the 2000 cost center with 1000 cost center.

This saves time and reversal of error postings and gives you a clear data for reports.

Hi

GGB0 is for defining the validations for calling the same at various calling points like FI document posting/parking, cost accounting document posting/etc.

OB28 is for attaching the FI related validation to a company code, by which the validation defined in GGB0 becomes active.

GGB4 is a comprehensive or substitute tcode for various t.codes OB28, GGB0, OBBH, GGB1, etc.
