Currently we can post in expiring currency using FBB1 .
I checked the function module CURRENCY_CODE_CHECK and found that
FUNCTION 'CURRENCY_EXPIRATION_CHECK' is not called for tcodes: FBB1,
FBA3 and FBA8 .
In our scenario Client users widely use FBB1 to book manual
adjustments of local or group currency transactions. In case we enable
expiring currency check for FBB1 for normal users , I would like to check the impact this would have on automatic postings done .
I want to know a simple test scenario for automatic posting in which FBB1 is called internally and not manually by users .
Eg : by closing programs .
Thanks ,

Request clarification before answering.
Use FAGLF101. It calls FBB1 internally.
Don't know if this is still pertinent to you, but wanted to put the knowledge out there.
All the best,
Mac

Hi ,
I understand the design , but our clients would like to enable the check of expiring currency for FBB1 also .
So I would like to explain to them the impact this would have on internal postings with a concrete example.
I am seraching for an example in which FBB1 is used for automatic posting .
Thanks ,
Lalitha

Hello,
As far as I know, The transactions FBB1 and FBA3 are not included in the check for the expiring currencies. This is by design.
Basically the purpose of the technical transaction code FBB1/F-05 is the posting of "adjustment" documents in specific (local) currency types within the processing of the period closing programs. This means that the transaction code should not be used for 'usual' postings manually/online. In context of the valuation processing it is required to create valuation postings referring to the transaction currency from the selected original foreign currency open items and balances. Accordingly transaction FBB1 is able to create documents also with an expiring currency key if necessary because the transaction currency of the valuation postings is referring to the transaction key of the valuated item or balance.
Addition, the functionality of the expiring currency is designed to help the users to avoid wrong postings in their normal business. This includes the normal posting transactions. FBB1/F-05 are not normal posting transactions.
I hope this explanation helped you to understand the system behavior.
