I'm on ECC SAP. In a previos business I used to set/view material traceability code in the material master. Now, a few years later in a different business and role, I can't find this field in the material master.
Is it in there, am I missing it?
How do we DEFINE a set of traceability codes for a business that has not used them in the past?
thanks
Guy

perhaps that was in an old SAP version, which is why I can't find it now.
How you would put some kind of indicator in your material master which dictates the level & type of quality requirements the material has - Certification etc.
Primarily, these are for procured items rather than manufactured items, though the same principle applies to both.

Nothing to do with movements. Traceability is to do with quality requirements for a material, what certification is required and what marking is required etc.
for example:
TC0 might mean no quality requirements (perhaps a CoC)
TC1 might mean the item must be batch managed where multiple items may be packed together with batch numbering on the bag
TC2 might batch managed with individual stamping of details on each product
and so on...
