SQL Error Log: Login Failed for User ''

Hi B1 experts,

currently i have a little problem with our SAP System or better SQL Server. Everytime when a SAP client is started, the SQL Server get the following warning message:

Login failed for user ''. Fehler bei der Anmeldung mit der SQL Authentifizierung. Der Server ist nur für die Windows-Authentifizierung konfiguriert.

Fehler 18456, Schweregrad 14, Status 58.

The same message occurs when i log into sap. The funktionality of SAP is not impaired.

I have checked the server authentification mode and the sql server is SQL and Windows Authentification configured.

SQL Server: 2008 R2

SAP System: SAP B1 8.8 PL19

Client System: Windows 7

Someone any ideas?

Regards,

Sabine

Hi,

same problem here with SAP 8.81 PL09, we would also appreciate a solution.

SAP SQL database Server runs on Windows 2003.

Error occurs only on Win 2008 R2 terminal, but not when starting B1 from former server Win 2003 terminal.

Same happens when starting the client as Administrator from Win 2008 R2 terminal.

Thanks

Sebastian

Hi Sabine,

Make sure that sap b1 browser is starting. if it is started and the problem still persists, you can try to run B1 client in the user's win 7 as administrator.

Hi Sabine,

I have noticed the same issue & have not yet fully resolved. Is your license server running with trusted, or with SQL authentication? The number of message I was getting reduced once I set as trusted.

What add ons are you running? I think it may be coming from add ons. The other option is possibly the mailer?

Hi Rahul, Hi Julie,

thanks for your replys

@Rahul:

all named pipes are aktiv. the services are all on automatic mode

@Julie

Our Server is running with SQL authentication. We do not use trusted connection generally - security risk.

Further i have disables all Addon. the error occurs again.

We do not use the SBO Mailer, he isn't installed.

I don't think this is a Windows 7 issue, we are getting it in all 8.8 customer sites, a mix of standard server / client, citrix etc. The Citrix site has 7 boxes, but all the OS are windows 2003

Hi.......

Please be sure that your SQL services are ON.

Go to Configuaration tools and configuration manager and ON all the piped network connections and also restart SQL services here.....

Put all the services on Automatic mode.....
