sort by sort string

Hi Experts ,

Can anybody explain me , in BOM we have option Edit > sort > sort by sort string . So what is this sort string ?

Hi,

Assign the string value for "sortstrng" filed for each Bom component in Item over View screen,

Then Try with sort by sort string option.

System will sort the components according to "sortstrng" value.

Great , What I understood if we dont want to sort bom items by material numbers or item numbers we can have our own sequence by sort string , Right ?

You are Right, u can insist the system to sort out the BOM components according to ur own condition.
