Hi Gurus,

I am trying to install ecc 6 on a desktop pc. It's asking for license key. Can anyone tell me whether i can generate the key in SolMan ver 3.2. Pls.

Hi Mohan,

logon to SolMan and go to Transaction SMSY.

Then you have to create your system with a right click on 'systems'.

When done, click on this system and find the button 'Other Object...'.

Fill in your system and find the button 'Generate Insallation/Upgrade Key...'.

Now fill in your system, system number and message server and you can

create the key.

Hi Mohanthy,

Walter has missed some vaulable suggestion in generating key

1.log smsy

2.server column-create new sys

3.define the sys name/host

4.click other object

5.give the 3digit of your choice save

5. now give messesge server name/and generate key

Dear Experts I want to install solution manager for solution manager key

I have installed win2003 with service pack 3 -also installed oracle 10 Application software not database.

I have installed Java jvm, jdk etc and set the env.variables

I have ecc6 about 32GB and free space 380GB with 4GB ram

please explain my next step

for installation solution manager.

Will someone generate me a Solution Manager Key?

I am doing an initial installation of the SDN NetWeaver Development System on Windows XP and I am at the point in the SAPinst where a Solution Manager key is required. I expected there to be a "service.sap.com" location where this could be processed as a mater of normal course in following the installation documentation.

I don't have a seperate SOLMAN server, but I need a SOLMAN key for the following:

1. Hostname: laks21; SYS ID: IS1; SYS no. : 04

2. Hostname: laks21; SYS ID: IS2; SYS no. : 06

3. Hostname: laks21; SYS ID: IS3; SYS no. : 08

Send me your details.

You required a solution manager key.With out key you cannot install your ECC6 system.

Try to install solution manager and generate a key using SMSY tcode.

Hi,

Yes you can generate a key solman ver 3.2.

From ECC 5 onwards we have to provide solman key using <b>SMSY</b> Tcode.

solman version supports 3.2 onwards means <b>solman3.2

solman 4.0</b> gives you solman key

Using solman versions 3.2and 4 we can generate a key for ECC 6 installations.
