Hello SAP Gurus,

Users have created a time based single cycle maintenance plan with only 1 maintenance item. Scheduling is done and batch job is running in the background.

The issue is 4 orders have been generated on the same day. The call date are 14/11, 14/12, 13/01 and 12/02. But the four orders got generated on 24th Feb. Any idea why it has happened? Screen shot attached

Deepak,

I cant see it being caused by a status as you wouldnt have been able to schedule the first call in IP10/IP30..

If the orders for calls 1,2,3,4 were created on the same date, then the plan may have been created with dates in the past, and therefore these orders were created the first time IP10/IP30 was scheduled.

Have a look in tables MPLA, MPOS, MHIO and MHIS to see if that gives any additional information..

Hello Peter,

I did check the above tables but did not find any conclusive evidence.

You are right. The plan was created in the past:-

The creation date is 29-10-2021

Start in cycle is 15/11/2021

Batch job was run on the basis of Sort field and there were several plans in it. Only one plan is giving problems.

A few things to consider.

Can you provide the start date of the maintenance plan and the scheduling parameters.

Does the task list has a strategy with packages assigned to the operations?

Also check to see If there are any entries in the packages for the start or finish float.

Are you doing backwards scheduling? That would explain them all completing on same date.

You also started the plans in the past to get start dates in Oct/Nov 2021 and Jan/Feb 2022.

Hello MIchael,

The start in cycle is 15/11/2021.

Scheduling parameters

This is a single cycle plan, not strategy.

It is forward scheduling.

My diagnosis is someone might have tampered with the maintenance plan - like make it inactive and then back to active status. In between these two status the batch job was run. When the plan was made active then all previous orders (when the system was inactive) got generated at one go.

Unfortunately my client has not activated the Change Log in SPRO and I cannot trace it.

Also they are using Sort field for deadline monitoring. This issue did not occur in any plans but one, all though all other plans come under the same Sort field.

Is my diagnosis correct or is there something else to consider?

Regards

Deepak
