Segment Reporting

Hi

There are three segments A, B, C for my client and there are two plants at different locations.

They want PL and BS at segment levels and plant levels

Plants are created as profit centers. A, B, C are created as segments.

(Business Areas are not used).

I have already defined segments in SAP. Do i need to do any other configuration for the same (like document splitting, etc)

you will very much need doc splitting....

However, I have few doubts on what you have done... You have defined plants as Pr Ctr which seems OK....

1. Have you assigned segment in Pr Ctr master?

2. Does your segment cuts across plants? i.e. Is segment A applicable for more than one plant?

If yes, then I think you are in a problem... In Pr Ctr, you can assign only one segment per profit center.... So, if your segment A comprises of Plant 1 and 2, then creating one Pr Ctr per plant will be of no use

you will have to create six profit centers and assign the segments in their master

Profit centers - 1 A 1 B and 1 C (For Pant 1) AND Pr Ctrs 2 A 2 B and 2 C for Plant 2....

In 1 A AND 2 Aassign segment as A

In 1 B AND 2 B assign segment as B and

In 1 C and 2 C assign segment as C
