Production Planning (PP) module in SAP ERP is integrated with several other modules in order to facilitate the flow of information between different business functions. Some of the key integration points of PP module with other modules are:
Materials Management (MM): PP module is closely integrated with MM module as it uses the material master data for creating production orders and maintaining inventory levels. PP module creates a material requirement planning (MRP) list in MM module which is used for procurement of raw materials and other components required for production.
Sales and Distribution (SD): PP module is integrated with SD module to plan and schedule production orders based on customer orders and demand forecast. The planned orders and production orders are created based on sales orders and delivery schedules in SD module.
Financial Accounting (FI): PP module is integrated with FI module for cost accounting purposes. The cost of production orders and material consumption is recorded in the FI module, which is used for tracking costs, profitability analysis, and financial reporting.
Controlling (CO): PP module is integrated with CO module for product cost planning, variance analysis, and profitability analysis. The CO module is used for tracking the costs associated with each production order, and for analyzing the variances between planned and actual costs.
Quality Management (QM): PP module is integrated with QM module for quality inspection of finished products and raw materials. The QM module is used to track quality data and perform quality control checks during the production process.
Plant Maintenance (PM): PP module is integrated with PM module for maintenance planning and scheduling. The PM module is used for preventive and corrective maintenance of production equipment, which is essential for ensuring smooth production operations.
