Hello Everyone,

Hope you all are doing great this afternoon.

I need help on the below issue.

My client has total 5 shifts 1 General Shift and 4 rotating shifts (A, B, C & D). I am in dilemma how to configure the 4 rotating shifts in the system. Here 3 shifts works in 24 and 4th shift will be OFF. Example if A works in first shift B works in 2nd shift and C works in 3rd shift and D will be off. Same like that When B works in first shift C works in 2nd shift and D works in 3rd shift and A will be OFF. I have maintained the Shift details below. Please let me know how to create Daily Work Schedule, Period Word Schedule and how to generate Work Schedule Rule.

As these are rotating shift what timings I need to maintain in Daily Work Schedule.

So it would seem that you have 4 Daily Work Schedules :

NORM   Whatever the hours of the "General Shift"

DAYS     Day Shift     6:00 to 14:00

EVES     Evening Shift     14:00 to 22:00

NIGH     Night Shift     22:00 to 06:00

Look into the SAP Standard for these DWS.

For your "General Shift", look at the Periodic Work Schedules provided by SAP, and define each Shift's PWS accordingly.

Hi, imagining,

1) you created two daily work schedules One daily work schedule for regular hours and the second for the OFF (So you need two daily work schedules).

2) You also created 1 period work schedule (only one period work schedule).

3) You create 5 work schedule rules for the combination of each work schedule and period work schedule but with Different Referencing point start date for each Period Work schedule, (this would help you to not to create 5 Period work schedules).

Ultimately, you have to have 5 work schedules rules by creating either way.

Now the point comes, each employee has to shift one work schedule to other work schedule after a week, so do you suggest user to go ahead and change each employee IT0007 record to reflect the right work schedule rule once their shift changes?

Does the work load on the user not increase with this decision? or you are going to suggest to have the IT0007 access to super visors, so that they could do this to their reportees every week., do you have system in place, where the manager can change the work schedule easily and conveniently such like Manager Desk Top, or ESS and MSS etc..

What is the time management status you have in Infotype 7, is the working hours flowing from CATS to R/3.

I am hoping you would consider all these points to derive the design solution.

Warm regards!

Thanks for reply, What is the working time should I mention in Daily Work Schedule? If I maintain 6 AM to 14 PM for Shift A and 14 PM to 22 PM for Shift B and 22 PM to 6 AM for the Shift C then what should I maintain for Shift D?????

Please advise.

Hi KG,

This doesn't help full for me.

I have 4 shifts when 3 shifts work then one shift will be off. When I create DWS I have to maintain planned working times.

For Shift A 06:00 AM to 14:00 PM

For Shift B 14:00 PM to 22:00 PM

For Shift C 22:00 PM to 06:00 PM

For Shift D ???????????????????

I hope now you understand my problem.

Looking forward for help.

Thanks & Regards

Hi Shiva

correct so first things first we created 4 DWS to define the shifts employees work A,B,C

D is Off so we flag ZERO_HOURS-no planned working hours.

I suppose now we have define the 3 shifts and off.- V_T550A.u will also define the break and map it in DWS.im sure u must have done it.

moving on to next ones-Period work schedue-V_T551A

PWS - mon -sun isnt it ?so we will have hpothetically 4 different people working in three different shifts A,B,C and one will have Off isnt it ?

so we have 4 differnt PWS say A1,B1,C1,D1.

what is crucial here is the PS and ES grouping,so please ensure u have mapped them properly.

u again will have to have 4 diff WSR -V_T508A.

and i would have not used SCHKZ feature,so that when we use PT01 we can map the correct WSR according to requirement.

hope im making sense here

play around im sure you will crack this one.

no worries

Hey Karthick,

Thanks for your response. I have solved this issue, I have configured but have not tested.

By the way do you have any Functional Specifications Templates?

If you have it please do send it to my id [email protected]. I would really appreciate if you could do that.

Thanks

Hi shiva,

for this you have to create 5 work schdule rules for IT0007.

WSR -01 General shift

WSR -02  Rotating A

WSR -03  Rotating B

WSR -04  Rotating C

WSR -05  Rotating D

Now you have to create the work schedule rule as i mentioned above. for that, first you have to create daily workschdule, period work schdule and workschdule rule finaly you have to generate work schdule.

According to your table, i understood there are 5 deferent timing like Shift A ,B,C , D as well as Off day.

So you have to create daily work schdule for this shift A B C D.and create your period workschdule according to your requirement.(this is very important bcos here only we hv to create our rotaing pattern)

then later create the workschdule rule . this the rule which will appear in IT0007.

finlay generate your workschdule .

you can find this SPRO IMG path to create the --Time management---workschdule..

here you can find all notes which is related to workschdule rule.

Dinesh

Hi ,

You can manage the above scenario in PWS.

Create 2 work schdules , one for DWS-1 and DWS-off.

Thanks
