Release projects automatically

Hi experts.

I will like to release projects when they reach a user status which i have created previously.

I explain when i create a project, it has to be approved by a project manager, then by a project leader, and then by a sales leader.

What i want is , when it reaches to the last status Checked Sales Leader i wolud like that the project releases automatically. Nowadays we are opening the project and releasing it manually.

I would like to know if it can be done without using workflows, (if we have to use it we will do, but we want to know if is possible to avoid it).

In the customizing i have found the transaction ok02 but in there it works wrong, because it changes to the status when we release it.

or you can use the milestone function also to release the WBS/Activities .

This could be useful, but i would like to release the whle project.

Anyway can you explain me how to do it?

Dear,

You can assign the milestone to activity and go the milestone function tab and then tick the function and tick release following activity and select the s/s status.

Thanks a lot, but it doesn´t help me because what i need is to release the whole porject, including the header, and the milestone, i mean the reference to release it is when the user status of the header reaches to the last status, and it reaches to the last status during the workflow.

Using OK02, for that user status where you want auto-RELE,

double-click to display all business transaction, for Release business transaction, check the radio button under Set Column.

I knew it, but it works just the opposite, when you release the project, it goes directly to the status that you flag in ok02.
