Could any one explain me the use of reference operation task list.

hi,

Reference Operation Sets are type of routings ( task lists). These are maintained to reduce the effort needed to create routings.

you can creat reference oeration set by using transcation code ca11., you can use this operation for rework order.

Reference task list is used, where industry needs any product can be manufacture in any of the machines , ln this case we create a reference task list.

this can be used where you are sure that making a task list with a material code is not logical,

for using it you need to change setting in order type OPL8 ( for production order ), routing selection should be 1, if you want to choose the order type always select reference task list.

Hi Gurus

i have tested the reference operation set and wanted to implenement in the production, in which users already using the routings. They have to change all the routings before they use all the reference operation set. So my question is, does it effect any functionalities after implementing this into production.

I have tested from my side by creating a production orders and confirmation and dont know anything about costing. So please advice on this.

yes, user need to know that during order creation they need to select the reference operation set.

Please show it to core team / end user in at least quality client so that they aware of kind of change they need to do in future .

or you need to define in the customisation default operation so that during costing run system can take default operations.

other then that no problem should come.

My question is that why you are making changes when you are already doing with routing.
