hello guru's,
I have a requirement in Inspection Data interface (QM-IDI). We need to exchange inspection lot details between SAP and non-SAP system, which is velquest (like LIMS).
Inspection specifications in SAP-QM are to be transferred to the external system LIMS. And then LIMS will carryout the inspection and transfers the results back to SAP-QM. To this purpose, SAP has provided RFC function modules.
External system is requesting the o/p in the form of xml file. is it possible to generate an xml file using the rfc's provided? if there is other possibility to establish this interface? plz help me. we have this issue from past two weeks i would reaaly appreciate if some one who has done this before comes around to help.
kris.

Hi Kris
I have exactly the same scenario as I am looking for. Were you able to figure this out??
Velquest is expecting xml files and is there a possibility to send it using QM-IDI? Is PI/XI required for this? Please let me know if you were successfull doing this. Can we create web services with the standard functional modules in 4.7 like the ones that are available readily in ERP 6.0.
Your advice would be of great help.
Thanks, Raj

Dear,
In the WC in the basic data assign the QDR system.
Define QDR system in the following SPRO node
Quality Managementà Quality Inspectionà Subsystemsà Process Quality Inspections Using QM-IDI Interfaceà Define Subsystem Connection for QM-IDI Interface
Define QDR system, giver following
Name
Rec type name.
Tracking level defect and termination message
In the node - Define Evaluation Method for QM-STI Interface, RFC destination has to be maintained by basis guy. Dont change any other setting..
You need to create a user called LIMS and this user name has to be given to LIMS group which they will configure.
MIC has to be replicated in LIMS systems which LIMS team will do in their system. That is all from QM side.
