Hi All,

I am not new to SAP but I'm new to Pm

I am a BI Consultant and have been doing it for a number of years but lately I've been involved in a PM implementation. Standard Business Content from BI is OK, but what I am looking for is a high-level process on how PM actually works from a flow perspective. This will greatly assist me in being able to analyze the data properly especially for different states of the data etc.

Does anyone know where I can find a high-level process design of PM and some details on it. Preferably a fisual diagram.

If you do, please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Hi

If you want the process cycle for PM... it has many things involved. Better way you can go thro the help.sap.com.

For example

Standard process in PM

Creation of Notification ( Normal or breakdown) - IW21

Order creation (Assign internal work hrs, external work hrs (Maintain Service package), internal material external material) - IW31

Release the order - IW32

For external activities like labour abd material (PR will be created)

when the work is completed

Internal Work Hours - do IW41

External Work Hours - PR - PO - ML81N

Internal Material - Reservation no - Goods Issue

External Material - PR - PO - GR

TECO the order

Close the order

Like this, u have different processess like preventive maintenance, Break down Maintenance, caliberation process, Refurbhishment Process etc...

Go to this link [Plant Maintenance|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/fe/67ec5c9d6f11d189b60000e829fbbd/frameset.htm]

Check the different scenarios...

Thanks for the reply.

I have looked at the help.sap.com site but it was too cumbersome to go through but with the info you have given me at least now a lot of that makes sense.

I have awarded you points but will not close the thread just yet just in case there is someone out there that has process flow diagrams that I can have.

Thanks a mil...

Hi Cas,

If you could have given the scenario then it is easy to explain the process flow. If you ask about a general flow then,

PM Notification --> PM Order creation --> Order Release > Operation Confirmation> TECO --> Closure.

If Material PR is generated from Order,

PM Order creation --> Order Release --> PR --> PO --> GR --> GI --> Order Oprn. Confirmation --> TECO --> Closure

If Service PR is generated from Order,

PM Order creation --> Order Release --> PR --> PO > Service Entry Sheet> TECO --> Closure

Also, refer the following link,

Hope this gives some idea.

Hi L.

I was after the general flow just to understand the process of what is happening.

You have been a great help.

Do you perhaps have any documentation on the process flows or know where I can get them?

Thanks,

Cas
