Dear

Phantom BOM set up :

1.Maintain the Special procurement key 50 in MRP 2 view for the required material if the material is SFG or FG which ever you want to create as Phantom BOM .Make sure that your BOM explosion type is in place correctly in OMIW.

2.Goto CS01-Enter FG/SFG code -Goto Item details -List down the the Item details here .If you have any Phantom Item as assmbly , you keep Phantom Item check box flagg off .

For an example let say A is your FG and B,C are SFG as BOM component which is In House produced .Bascically , If you do not want to Store B and C but want plan the depedent of B,C along with A's dependent and also cost of B,C routing hrs /component along with A , then you can use this Phantom BOM functionality

Hope this is clear

Dear,

We have phantom assemblies defined in BOM's,with phantom indicator columnm flagged.

In this Bom Explosion With Phantom Assemblies:

1. You need to maintain the special procurement key for the phantom Assembly

in the MRP 2 View of the material master

2. If a Bom item is a phantom assembly , the dependent reqmts of the higher

level assembly are directly passed to the components of the phantom

assembly skipping the phantom assembly.

3. Planned orders/ Purchase requisitions are created for the components of the

phantom assembly.

4. We can override the Phantom Assembly Setting by defining in SPRO --->

Define Explosion Types so that MRP Creates Procurement Propasals for the

Phantom Assembly itself.

ie We can Swith off the Phantom Assembly Settings.

This settting need to be defined in the BOM Item details screen in the Basic

Data Tab Page under MRP Area.

So check in your Bom whether switch off phantom assembly is defined.

Thank you.

Hi

To define a component is a phantom or not in BOM you need to select the check BOX against the component line item in BOM which specifies whether the item in question is a phantom assembly.

Also check the explosion types for phantom assembly in T code OS17.

Check and revert
