Hi,

Offcycle payroll is used for the payment which happens in mid of period. by using offcycle you can make these payment on the same date without waiting till normal payroll execution date. You don't need to change the payroll control record status to 'Release for payroll'.

Whereas correction run is used to modify the already executed payroll in past. Suppose you have missed a payment (or wrongly entered) and you have executed the payroll and exit as well. Now if you need to modify before the payroll run when system will automatically trigger the retro, you can do the recomputation on the day you want.

Hi,

You would be running correction when the payroll is run and there are some errors during this run...

Off-cycle Payroll:

As an addition to regular payroll, which carries out payroll at fixed regular intervals, this function enables you to carry out specific off-cycle payroll activities for individual employees on any day. Off-Cycle Reasons differentiate between various types of off-cycle payroll runs.

Hi Obulu,

A correction run is necessary when you want to correct a previous payroll run. In such case the previous payroll run will be marked as 'P' (Previous result) while the new run will be marked as 'A' (Current result). However a correction is run as an off-cycle, through transactions like PUOC_10 (for US payroll). An off-cycle run is any event ran out of the regular payroll runs. E.g.: a bonus.

Hope it clarifies. I'm moving your thread to Payroll International forum in case you need further information.

Kind regards.
