Hi Gurus,
Thanks for your earlier suggestion on multiple packaging.
I am having a senario for export where i am having 50 items to be packed in each plastic bags, then in a corrugated box and this box is kept on a pallet.
Over all there are 10 set of pallet+corrugated box which is to be packed in a container.
Here there is 3+ level of packing.
Kindly suggest the process....

Kishan

you can use recursive packing, defining packing rules that contain another pack rule. example:
Pack rule 1: 10 pieces of A in 1 box B
pack rule 2: 10 pack rule 1 in 1 pallet P
final result: 10 box in a pallet, when packing 10x10 = 100 pieces of A.
reward if helpful

Hi Kishan,
I think you had gone through the packaging i.e., handling units.
When once we want to pack a packaged material, we can use handling unit managment.
What we have to do is first create all the required packaging materials and do the necessary settings in the mateiral master such that the 50 items are to be packed in plastic bag and then in the mentioned box and this box in a pallet.
By my knowledge we do packing upto 999 in SAP.
What we have to do is once the material is packed with once material, again we have to make it handled with the handling unit at the time of packing .
Hope this provides information.

Hi Mohan,
I Have tried this out. But not getting the result. Pls tell me whether i shud go for configuration of HUM....or normal packing configuration is enough.
Result:
Material 120 - pack - Plastic Cover 120
Plastic cover 120 - BOX 4
BOX 4 - Pallet 4
But when i go to the outbound delivery view. i am not getting the pack item pallet in the item level along with Component.
Pls tell me how to set Plant/Storage location date (Packing View - General - Status)
Kindly suggest.

Kishan
Hi! Kishan,
If I have understood your problem correctly, the following should work
In IMG Logistic General->HU Management->Material Management->Inventory Management -> HU requirement for storage Location.
Set the storage location to Handle in HUs.
It should work then.
(What I have understood your problem is at the user level you are packing each of your material in a pack, normal packing configration will work here.
At the user level:-
Then packing these in a corrugated box, these would now become a HU.Now use the pack HU tab page in the delivery, enter the material no. of your pallet in the upper part of the screen, select the HU that are shown in the lower part of the screen as well select mat. no. of your pallet then click on the correct pack option- again this should work.)
Hope this will help you come to a conclusion.

Hi Pratik,
Thanks for ur suggestion. I am able to do packing but my main concern is i have to manually enter plant/storage Loc data in packing (General- Status View). I have tried through inventory management....in IMG. But it is asking to clear the stock for FG storage Loc.
Kindly Suggest.
Regards
Kishan
