Hi Sapiens,

I have been creating codes in number sequence, and I just noticed one code is missing from my newly created codes.

The code that is missing in number sequence is, 3003368. See below error message.

Could you tell me please ow to find out if this material number was created earlier and then it was deleted? Because I cant find this material in master data.

Thanks

S Sinha

Hi shraiya.nancy07

It looks like your material numbering is set up for internal number assignment. Therefore you can't enter 3003368 material number in MM01. That's ok, that's how your system is set up.

The fact that you "lost" material number 3003368 is also nothing to worry about. It's perfectly normal that with internal number assignment you have gaps in material number sequence. This effect is explained in SAP support note: 1646025 - Material number skipping while creating material in transaction MM01 or app "Create Materi...

I wouldn't worry about the "lost" number. Just go ahead and create a new material if you need one.

Hi Sinha,
In additional to the explanation of Dominik, While creation of materials if we not saving the material and doing the process again, then material number assignment will be skipped by few numbers(based up on configuration). In your case it is 1.
Eg: created materials 001, 002, then while creating 003 I came out without saving, then next material comes as 0004 automatically (internal number range).
