Hi

What is the purpose for creating new message types?

I have used the standard message types and maintained the standard settings.

Still I am not able to take print outs from ME9A.

What is the reason?

Regards

Hi,

I think you not maintained message type in RFQ.

Goto ME42. In Menu click on Header, choose messages. Enter output type, Medium.

Click on Communication method, enter logical destination and other info. save it.

Now check it in ME9A. change the processing status to 1.

If you want to populate messages in RFQ automatically, create condition records in MN01.

When we develop our own scripts and smartforms, then we create new message types and we assign our own scripts/smartforms to new message types.

Hai,

If u don't maintain the condition records for the msg type for the RFQ and message is not outputted in ME41, u will not get printout.

If you cannot out put messages with ME9A, then you probably have no messages in the POs.

You have to have a message record in the PO.

For this you have either to enter the message record manually in the PO, or you have to setup message determination and have to maintain condition records in MN04. then your PO will automatically get a message.

And then you should be able to output it with ME9A.

Message types are created to distinguish between messages for different purposes.

NEU for standard PO, AEND for a PO change, MAHN for reminder letter.

Maybe something like NEUF as extra type for faxing or or NEUC for an extra spare copy to a printer while using fax to communicate to the vendor
