what materials you would group in one of the types is certainly different from industry to industry.
I am working in Chemical industry, so I keep my raw materials like caustic soda as ROH in stock, my produced dish liquid as FERT, but pencils and copy paper would be created as non-stock (NLAG) material.
But a company that produces pencils, would certainly have the pencils as FERT materials, and the dish liquid as NLAG.
