Dear

Please check this link http://www.sap-img.com/sap-mm.htm under MM free down loads you can find the Configuration of Material types (using screen shots)

T.coe OMS2

For creating new m,aterial type follow the link:

In Display IMG -> -> Logistic General -> MM -> Basic Settings -> Material Types -> Define attributes of Material Types (click on the above and choose the standard material type (i.e, default material type available in SAP R/3)

-> Copy and then give your own (i.e, New Material Type) and then change the Attributes &Control data

(i.e, Field selection, Authorization group, X-plant material status, Special material types such as Pipe line mandatory, Mfg part or configurable, User department, number ranges (internal /external), price control, quantity or value updation, and also retail-specific fields etc)

For each material type, you can allow Movements in quantity to be updated in all Valuation Areas, in some Valuation Areas, or in None.

Likewise, you can allow value flows to be updated in all Valuation Areas, in some Valuation Areas, or in None.

Once you have maintained the material types, define the number ranges for each material type.

Hi,

Use OMS2.

Activities

You have the following options:

Customizing the existing material types in the SAP system if necessary

You do this by selecting the material type and choosing Details.

Creating new material types

You do this by copying an existing material type.

In each case, define the attributes of each material type as required.

You can also maintain the price control for the material type in Customizing for Valuation and Account Assignment in the activity Define Price Control for Material Types.

For each material type, you can allow movements in quantity to be updated in all valuation areas, in some valuation areas, or in none. Likewise, you can allow value flows to be updated in all valuation areas, in some valuation areas, or in none.

Once you have maintained the material types, define the number ranges for each material type.

Thanks & Regards,

Kiran
