Material types

Dear experts,

My Client is using only 5 material types(CSDT,DIEN,NLAG,GENC,HIBE). We have upgraded to ECC6 from 4.6B. Now apart from the old material types ,new material types have dispaying.Client want to view only 5 material types only.Remaining are unnecessary confusion for selecting the material types.

I can delete the mat types which are not using in OMS2 in Customisation.

Is there any other solution to not to dispay these new mat.types in MM01 transaction in field Material type

Hi Cheruku,

U can control this through authorization object

Check with ur basis person who can give authorization in a such a way that user will see only required material types

Check with authorization object ZBAU

Or by controlling user auth in object M_MAT_MAR (Material Type)

Dear Vishal,

I have entered for CSDT- authorisation group--001

HIBE- authorisation group--002

NLAG- authorisation group--003

GENC- authorisation group--004

DIEN- authorisation group--005 in OMS2 in customisation

and same authorisation groups assigned to the particular role(MM01) in PFCG transaction. Then concern user assigned to this role is viewed then also all the mat views are dispalying.

I checked the authorisation object M_MATE_MAR, but how the material types can be restricted.In PFCG--under the object , we have activity-create/change/dispaly

and Authorisation group-currently * is there. Then I hve created/entered authorisation group as above, and samething assigned in PFCG.

Please suggest.

Hi

Deletion of other std. matl type is not recommanded, you can do so but may these will be needed in future. So try to convience your client. And You can use authorisations to create perticular types of matl only.

Dear AAK,

The issue is viewing of material types in material master,instead of all which are not using. Client is using only 5 types. While creation in MM01 , he is selecting 25 types of mat.types,out of which selecting the mat types is inconvienent.client is using only five material types.

How can be restricted for viewing in MM01 against field-Material type.

Please suggest.
