material multi user accept

Hi All,

We have issue regarding Material Master processing

i.e. When processing the material for one user . if other users process the same material, this material is locked by some user XXXX.We want use multiple user for the materials with out locking.

To ensure data integrity, it is necessary to block the material against updates by other users during goods movements.

This is achieved by blocking the material plant (lock object MARC) and the material valuation area (lock object MBEW) exclusively against other transactions which update the material master. The result of this exclusive material block is that several users cannot carry out goods movement to the same material plant simultaneously.

The late material block for goods movements was developed for Release 3.0D to allow several users to work simultaneously. If the late material block for goods movements is activated, the material plant and material valuation area are merely saved

I am closing my issue with this answer

with a Share block, so that other users can block the same material plant with Share at the same time, and, as a result they are able to enter goods movement.

the late lock can be activated with transaction OMJI.

Hi Sreenivas,

What Yadav says is 100% true.

But to address your situation why dont you try options in SAP to make mass changes to material master.

E.g. Transaction code MASS or LSMW tool......

You can decide upon the fields you are changing and use these.For checking the values you can use display(MM03) among your users.

We have around 20,000+ material for all types

Ex. In sales order above 200 line items are there. And in purchse order around 100 line items are there .If we r in change mode in any transaction it will take time for checking and some changes in transaction Like VA02, ME22N....., at this time the other user getting problam. The user unable to process for any transaction.

Plz try to understand my problam clearly

Hi Sreenivas

It is Universal law that two person can't edit the same thing at the same time. So it is impossible to configure your requirement.

Yes, system will allow many user at a time in display mode. Any number of users can view material at a time, but only one user can edit it at a time.
