Hello Gurus,
What is functional testing? Is there any difference between functional testing and unit testing?
Please clarify my doubt
Thanks in advance

Hi,
See there is difference between the two.
Unit testing - this testing will be done by each of the module consultant on there own what the configurations have been done on the system like for example assignment of plant to company codes, Mainly configuration settings
Functional testing - this testing will be done by each of the module consultant on there own what the configurations have been done on the system like for example number ranges, in case if u create the PO is the number range falling in the defined number range or not etc etc.
Integration Testing- will involve cross module consultants and they test the functionality of the bussiness process defined by them according to the company needs for example.. the integration points like MM-FI G/L accounts picked etc etc.
User acceptance testing - This testing involves the company side employees to test the processes on there own.
Regression testing - For example if there is a roll out project and as and when it is going to Go-live the other companies which is already gone live will have this testing in which they will test there processes checking that the configurations made by the roll out implementation does not impact there bussinesses. This is only done when all the companies have there configurations made in one server/ one production client
thanks & Regards,
Kiran
