Function Module/BAPI to Obsolete a DP in VIM SAP

Hi All,

We frequently get requests to Obsolete DPs in production and entering some reason. Currently we are doing do by executing SWO1 for Business Object /OPT/V1001, then Create Instance, give the DP#, Execute method CALL_DASHBOARD, Execute and then Click Set as Obsolete and enter Reason.

The above is tedious when we have to this for bulk DPs. Can anyone suggest any function module/BAPI or any way to Obsolete a DP so we can create a program where input is list of DPs and Reason and it would Obsolete them.

Hi There,

You may not require this anymore however this might help someone in need.

To the query, yes we have a standard report - /OPT/IM_WF_ADMIN_TOOL to mass obsolete the VIM DP documents. This is used to cancel VIM workflows which inturn obsoletes the VIM documents.

1. Goto SE38 - provide the report name /opt/vim_wf_admin_tool and click execute.

2. Provide the Document ID's which you need to mass obsolete. Hit Execute.

3. Click yes in the warning message

4.Select all in the documents and processes to terminate area.

5.Click Process items which cancels the workitems and the vim documents will get obsoleted.

Custom reports can be created to mass obsolete the vim dp docs if required so.
