Hi Everyone:
My client is in 5.0 ECC version and I am trying to run the year end closing for a company. The system displays de message "APC values have not been posted to Financial Accounting for all relevant depreciation areas". I tried to run the APC posting program (ASKB) and the message "Account 'Capital. difference/Non-operatng expense' could not be found" appeared. So I have two questions:
Why do I have to run de APC before the year end closing?
What should be the nature of the 'Capital. difference/Non-operatng expense' account and what is it for?
Thanks in advance,
Susanna

Hi Susanna,
if you set up a depreciation area to post APC values direct or periodically, you have to assure that all fixed asset transaction are posted to G/L for these depreciation areas before you close the fiscal year end. Always remind that only area 01 posts realtime to General Ledger (besides some special areas like revaluation, investment support).
The fiscal year close now assures that you executed the periodic posting run, and that all transaction taken place in a fiscal year (for not realtime posting depreciation areas) are correctly posted into G/L. If not, this would cause definitely inconsistencies between FI-AA and FI-GL.
Concerning your second question you can find detailed information in SAP notes [130711|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/130711] and [715514|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/715514]. These should answer all your questions.

Markus
