HI,
In material master - in which view ABC field is presant,
What is the importance of such fields in material master.
Thanks

Hi,
ABC indicator is used to classify materials based on their consumption value at plant level.
you can classify the materials in the begining (setting up of material master) based on your estimates of consumption
A - important part, high consumption value
B - less important part, medium consumption value
C - relatively unimportant part, low consumption value
After a period of time when you system has consumption statistics updated then you can run transaction MC40
This program will give you classification of materials for selected time period based on consumption quantities,
in this program you can also update the material master based on the classification carried out by the program.
Hope this helps

Hi,
I have found two ABC fields. One in MRP1 and one in Plant Data1. They have different field names MAABC and ABCIN. Is there a way with configuration to synchronize these fields? When MIBC is run to reset the ABCIN for cycle counting is there a way to copy to MAABC at the same time?
Thanks
Prashanth
Dear Prasanth,
We have one more ABC in Material master. For that using for
ABC Indicator
Indicator that classifies a material as an A, B, or C part according to
its consumption value. This classification process is known as the ABC
analysis.
The three indicators have the following meanings:
o A - important part, high consumption value
o B - less important part, medium consumption value
o C - relatively unimportant part, low consumption value
This indicator appears in MRP1
Hope this may helps You
Prem.

Hi
In Plant date/ Storage 1 view you can find a field called CC phys. inv. ind. - here you classify the material as ABC.
Indicates that the given material is subject to the cycle counting method of inventory.
The indicator also defines at which time intervals a physical inventory is to be carried out for the material.
This indicator groups the materials together into various cycle counting categories. Usually, these categories correspond to the ABC analysis of the materials.
Thanks & Regards
