Error Message while cretaing a Process Order

Hi all,

While trying to created a Process order I am getting this message.

You cannot make an assignment to make-to-order stock

Message no. CO684

Diagnosis

The component cannot be allocated to an individual stock because make-to-order production and engineer-to-order production cannot be executed with this order.

A possible cause is that you are trying to create an order with reference to a sales-order/project, where an account assignment to a sales order/project is not allowed in the settlement profile that is assigned to the chosen order type. This is inconsistant.

Please advice.

Closing this issue as the problem was because of the strategy type being used .With another post from brahmakar I was able to reslove it.

Hi,

It seems that your are trying to create a Process Order for a material which is defined as MTO i.e Planning strategy 20 etc..

Try to create with CO08.

Yes you are right, But I am trying to convert the Planned order to process order in MD04.

Hi,

Whether the Planned Order created is with reference to Sales Order?

If not, then the same problem you will face.

Have you created the Planned Order manually?

If so delete the Pl. Order and re-run MRP. With reference to Sales Orders MRP will generate Pl. Orders and you can convert that to Prod. Orders without any problem.

The planned order was not manually created. it was created by the Sales order creation & MRP run

There are few OSS Notes which are relevent for your problem..

Which SAP version you are into?

Check the following

Note 432109 - CO684 when creating a production order

723180 - CO08: Error CO684 when creating production orders

861670 Error msg CO684 when converting Planned order to Prod.order

Dear,

Go to t-code OKKP and clicking sales order check box First enter into OKKP t-code then select your the controlling area, then select activate component controlling indicator double click on it ., then you will found sales order check box.

In addition to that please check these Note 307059 and Note 317715 and 432109, 861670.
