Hi all,

When I am creating a consignment Po

I am stuck with the error

• With item cat. K, inventory mgmt. of material must be value-based.

Diagnosis

Value-based inventory management is defined in the material master record, but the item category does not allow the material to be included in inventory management.

Procedure

Check whether you have entered the right item category;

If you have the relevant authorization, you can check the item category using the Customizing facility:

Define external representation of item categories

Plz help me with this issue

firstly you have to check the material type of PR material in

"OMS2" > SELECT YOUR MATERIAL TYPE > CLICK "Quantity and value update option "

Double clik on this.>Now Select your plant & check the CHECK BOX FOR VALUE UPDATE

>save.

Hi Hildai,

Go to tcode OMS2. Select your material type ( Material which you are using in Your Consignment PO.

NOw On the right hand side you can see Quantity and value update option.

Double clik on this.

Now Select your plant which you are using in your consignment PO and check the chek box for Value update.

Now save and come out.

Now you try the same replicating your same cycle.

This will Work!!!

Your material type is customized to be non-valuated in the plant you entered in your PO.

this is not allowed, because SAP consumes the value for non-valuated material when doing the goods receipt.

with consignment stock the value is consumed when you do the goods issue.

As you cannot consume the value twice, you have to have a value managed material type.
